Jay Creek

There is a delicacy about the gum trees that often catches me off guard. Maybe it is the contrast with what seems a harsh physical environment.

As I was driving past Jay Creek on the way back to Papunya form Alice Springs, I was thinking about how the the range of colours seemed to 'look right' together.

Training night

Kick to kick after training at No 2 Oval.
I took a nice mark, to the mild surprise of many, including me.
The phrase 'white boys can't jump' came to mind.
One of the boys just reminded me 'that was when you kicked the football'.
Vincent, a 15 year old, patiently explained to me the other night
what I was doing wrong with my kicking technique.
He had me repeat the action until I got it right.

I will leave Papunya with improved football skills.

Softball. Those girls can really hit the softball.
Check out the backdrop.

End of the day.
